Looking back at 2015 – and ahead to the New Year

Blog_122915_YearInReviewWhat a year it has been! Since we started the Vanco blog back in January, we have spent the year learning, growing and serving faith-based communities. It has been a fulfilling and successful journey, and we are enthusiastically looking ahead to what the New Year will bring.

The topics we started talking about in January – leading change without sacrificing tradition, communicating the benefits of e-Giving to your staff and community, and offering members the giving options they want – are still important as we move into a new year. We’ll continue those conversations and hope you’ll continue to be a part of them.

Whether you’re just beginning to consider electronic options and have questions about e-Giving, or are ready to move ahead and need essential strategies for launching e-giving, you can always turn to our blog, our website or our e-Giving experts for guidance and assistance.

Some of the most popular topics we’ve discussed this year include the surprising acceptance that seniors show for e-Giving, the continued shift of our spending habits from brick-and-mortar stores to online, and those occasions when it may not be necessary to silence your smartphone in church.

We’ve also discussed strategies for optimizing your giving program for your busiest time in our series on The Most Giving Time of Year, and for increasing generosity during the summer when attendance drops and budgets can become stretched without proper planning. And sometimes, we take a break to share something fun.

As we wrap up 2015, we want to thank our guest bloggers who have shared their insights with us this year.  Reverend Margaret Marcuson, Dr. Hal Seed and Ben Stroup are as passionate as we are about helping churches meet their fundraising goals and fulfill their missions, and we look forward to hearing more from them next year.

And thanks to guest blogger Sally Grantham from our partner ACS Technologies. Her post about the untouched donation plate  in March foretold a key finding of our churchgoer giving survey, which you’ll be hearing more about when the final report is released next month.

We look forward to sharing that and much more with you in the weeks ahead. Happy New Year!
